An alert for the pedestrian accident was raised at 5:25 PM, as reported by the Subregional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Setúbal Peninsula.
The individual who was injured, considered a “minor victim,” was transported to Garcia de Orta Hospital.
The accident resulted in the complete shutdown of the Metro Sul do Tejo, “in both directions, on two lines – one ascending and one descending.”
As of 6:40 PM today, six vehicles and 21 personnel from Almada Volunteer Firefighters, INEM, PSP, and representatives from Metro Transportes do Sul were present at the scene.
This is the second fatal pedestrian accident involving Metro Sul do Tejo this month.
On December 2nd, a person died after being struck by the surface metro at Santo Amaro station in Corroios, Seixal municipality.
