
The transportation company has announced the provision of minimum services for various routes, including lines 200, 201, 204, 205, 207, 208, 305, 500, 502, 600, 602, 701, 702, 704, 801, 901/906, 903, and 907 during daytime hours from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Similar arrangements will be in place for night services from 9:00 PM to 12:30 AM, covering lines 200, 204, 205, 305, 500, 502, 600, 602, 701, 702, 801, 901/906, 903, and 907.
During the early morning hours from 12:30 AM to 6:00 AM, STCP will operate all scheduled trips on lines 1M, 2M, 4M, 5M, 7M, 8M, 9M, 10M, 11M, 12M, and 13M, according to the press release.
STCP expresses regret over any inconvenience this situation may cause to its customers and requests their understanding.
In the arbitration process to determine minimum services for STCP on Thursday, the court concluded that considering the complete validity of the minimum services set on November 4, 2023, regarding the “Strike during the last two hours of each worker’s daily service,” these should also be observed during the current strike. Thus, the court unanimously decided not to define minimum services for December 11, as stated in the ruling published on the Economic and Social Council (CES) website.
The general strike on Thursday against the government’s draft proposal for labor law reform marks the first joint action by the two main labor unions, CGTP and UGT, since June 2013, during Portugal’s negotiation period with the ‘troika’.
The proposed government reforms aim to address several areas, including parental leave, dismissals, extension of contract terms, and sectors that will be subject to minimum service requirements in case of a strike.
