In accordance with the directive, considering the vacancy following the passing of the president of the board of directors of the Institute of Social Security, it was deemed necessary to appoint a new holder to ensure the normal and effective operation of the service.
Management positions can be held on a temporary basis in cases of vacancy, particularly during the ongoing selection process, as noted in the directive. The appointed individual must have the qualifications for the position, along with the necessary technical competence, aptitude, professional experience, and training.
The Commission for Recruitment and Selection for Public Administration (CReSAP) will initiate a recruitment process for the position.
Pedro Corte Real, whose appointment will take effect on December 1, 2025, is authorized to engage in activities within higher education institutions, particularly teaching and research.
From 2021 to 2024, he was the scientific coordinator of the Master’s in Actuarial Mathematics at NOVA FCT and is currently part of the scientific committees for this master’s and the undergraduate program in Applied Mathematics to Risk Management, according to the curriculum note.
Corte Real also served as the chairman of the fiscal council of Montepio Asset Management – Investment Fund Management Company between 2017 and 2019.
