Father Guilherme, a Portuguese Catholic priest, has gone viral once more on social media, thanks to his success as a DJ.
This time, footage was captured in Mexico where the priest was performing this past weekend, showcasing an electronic (and modern) version of the religious song “La Guadalupana.”
His performance, which has already garnered thousands of views on social media, achieved such success that it is being discussed in various Mexican media outlets.
Newspapers highlight his “charisma and unique style” and recall that he has appeared at several international festivals, where he “seeks to bring younger generations closer to faith through music.”
In his ‘resume,’ Father Guilherme boasts many viral videos of his performances. The one from last weekend depicts the Portuguese DJ at a mixing desk, wearing his priest’s cassock, surrounded by young people who are thrilled by the new version of the Mexican song.
“Despite the festive atmosphere, he maintained a clerical posture and a deeply respectful tone towards the Virgin of Guadalupe and Mexican culture,” notes the TV Azteca website.
While he set festival-goers alight with excitement live, he also receives plenty of praise on social media. “I love this priest, he is the best,” wrote one user. Another wished “God bless him” for such a “great” version of “La Guadalupana.”
