The Prime Minister Luís Montenegro stated this morning in Baião that he expects the country to operate as normally as possible amid a general strike on Thursday.
“I hope that everyone who wants to can go to work, that those with other activities can also carry them out,” he said, referring to students who wish to study, patients with scheduled treatments, and those needing public administration services. “Because the rights of some cannot hinder the rights of others,” he concluded.
When questioned about the reasons behind the strike, the prime minister chose to emphasize that Portugal is “a country with political, economic, and financial stability.”
