A message sent at 07:19 to Lusa confirmed by IP indicated that the train has been re-railed and track cleaning operations have been completed.
“Train circulation has been restored between Malveira and Mafra, with a speed limitation of 10 km/h in place at the location,” according to IP.
The train derailed on Tuesday on the Oeste railway line due to a landslide near the Alcainça halt in the municipality of Mafra, district of Lisbon, resulting in a minor injury and interrupting train circulation, as reported by CP-Comboios de Portugal and IP.
Official sources from CP and Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) confirmed to Lusa on Tuesday that the derailment of the train, which was heading south, occurred “around 15:00.”
According to Miguel Oliveira, the fire brigade commander of Malveira, the train was carrying 16 passengers at the time of the accident, with one passenger sustaining minor injuries and being transported to the emergency department of the Santa Maria Local Health Unit in Lisbon.
Train circulation was interrupted between the Meleças (Sintra) and Malveira (Mafra) stations.
CP managed passenger transfers by road in the area where train circulation was suspended.

Train circulation on the Oeste railway line, between Louriçal (Pombal) and Amieira (Soure), has been suspended since 11:30 due to a landslide caused by inclement weather.
