Following another negotiation meeting at the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI), the government today presented an update to the socioprofessional associations of the GNR, announcing a 2.15% increase next year in the shift supplement, which translates to a monthly increase of three euros, according to the president of the Association of Guard Professionals (APG).
This increase in the shift supplement adds to the previously announced 2.5% increase in January for the special service supplement, aimed at military personnel working in criminal investigation and special units.
César Nogueira stated to Lusa that the government is amending the remuneration statute “piecemeal,” starting with supplements, and argued that “the entire statute must be discussed,” specifically base salaries, which means creating a new remuneration table, the most important issue for the APG.
“The APG will maintain protest actions until a comprehensive review of the remuneration statute is on the negotiation table,” emphasized the president of the most representative association of the GNR, indicating that protests will resume in January after a gathering held on Thursday near the prime minister’s residence along with the Police Professionals Union Association (ASPP/PSP).
During the meeting, the MAI also presented a new proposal regarding the paid services, increasing the two tables, the general one (Table A) and the one intended for non-professional sports competitions (Table B), by 15%.
The APG advocated for the existence of a single table.
In the afternoon, the MAI will meet with the PSP unions, but the ASPP will not be present, having left the negotiations at the last meeting, accusing the government of not honoring the agreement reached in July 2024. For the ASPP, as well as for the APG, the priority is to negotiate salaries.
The next negotiation meeting is scheduled for January, with no specific date set, and will likely discuss occupational health and safety.
