An alert was issued at 2:23 PM, mobilizing personnel from the Esposende Lifeboat Station, Viana do Castelo Maritime Police, Esposende Volunteer Firefighters, INEM, Civil Protection, and GNR, according to AMN.
“The victim was rescued from the water by the crew of the Lifeboat Station, supported by firefighters and local residents nearby,” detailed AMN in a statement.
After receiving assistance, the man was “transported with signs of hypothermia to a hospital unit by INEM.”
The jet ski he was on became stranded on Esposende beach and was later removed.
