A man died on Saturday aboard a vessel at the Doca Pesca do Arade ramp in the Lagoa municipality.
The cause of death remains unknown, as stated by the National Maritime Authority (AMN).
Emergency services received the alert at 8:00 a.m., prompting the deployment of personnel from the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão, the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER), INEM, the Albufeira Volunteer Firefighter Association, and the Judiciary Police (PJ).
“Upon arrival, Maritime Police officers secured the area and implemented all necessary police safety measures, with the INEM doctor carrying out the verification of death,” the statement confirmed.
The deceased was subsequently transported by Albufeira Volunteer Firefighters to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences in Portimão.
The PJ is handling the investigation.
