As of approximately 6:30 p.m., the regional authority reported a series of incidents, including 22 instances of fallen trees, 29 structural impacts, seven damages to the electricity network, and two cases of landslides.

The majority of these incidents occurred in Funchal (43), with 12 in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, five in Santa Cruz, one in Ribeira Brava, and another in Machico.

“All incidents were promptly resolved at the municipal level,” stated the Civil Protection of the archipelago, which had been under a yellow weather warning (the least severe).

Meanwhile, the port authority of Porto do Funchal lifted the strong wind warning for Madeira’s coastal area.

“Despite the cancellation of the warning, it is advised that boat owners and operators take necessary precautions to ensure navigability,” stated the regional maritime authority.

The port authority also advised ensuring safe conditions for circulation on breakwaters, cliffs, beaches, or natural pools, as well as safety for recreational fishing, especially near cliffs and rocky areas.
