Two men, aged 30 and 60, were arrested by the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) on March 29 for robbery at a fuel station in the municipality of Nelas.
In a statement on Monday, the security force announced that following a complaint, several police operations were conducted. These investigations revealed that as the establishment was closing, one of the suspects, disguised and armed with a crowbar, entered the premises and threatened both an employee and a customer.
After committing the crime, the suspects fled the scene. However, GNR quickly deployed various resources to locate and pursue them.
The men were eventually apprehended in the city of Viseu.
Subsequently, a search was conducted at a residence and inside a vehicle, leading to the seizure of various items linked to the criminal activity, including €449 in cash, two crowbars, two mobile phones, and several pieces of clothing worn by the suspects.
The detainees are scheduled to appear today, March 31, for an initial judicial hearing at the Viseu Judicial Court.
