The weather is expected to improve starting Monday, yet seven districts in mainland Portugal are under a yellow alert this Sunday due to heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, according to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
In the districts of Setúbal, Lisbon, and Leiria, the yellow alert for precipitation, which may be heavy and possibly accompanied by thunderstorms, will be in effect from 6:25 AM to 12:00 PM.
Santarém and Beja will also be under a yellow alert for precipitation, with showers that could be heavy, occasionally with hail and accompanied by thunderstorms, from 6:00 AM on Sunday until 3:00 PM in the district of Santarém and 6:00 PM in the Alentejo district of Beja.
The yellow alert in the districts of Évora and Portalegre, due to showers that may sometimes be heavy, occasionally with hail and accompanied by thunderstorms, will be in effect from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The yellow alert, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
It is expected that from tomorrow, there will be a week of hot and dry weather in mainland Portugal, at least until Thursday, April 10, when temperatures are set to decrease, and rain and wind are expected to return.

Good weather will last at least until Thursday, a day that will see a change with the return of rain.
