The Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, expressed on Tuesday the significance of being in the Azores Autonomous Region during a “pre-election campaign” and sharing with the Azoreans the intention to strengthen support for the region.
“We indeed seek to amplify this support on a national level, but we perceive the Azores as a territory where the AD can achieve greater representation in Parliament,” stated Luís Montenegro to journalists after a meeting with the Agricultural Association of São Miguel Island.
He continued: “Directly speaking, in terms of MPs who have served in the Assembly of the Republic, it seems evident that those elected by the Democratic Alliance—now AD—PSD/CDS Coalition were the most effective in delivering on commitments and achieving tangible results for the quality of life of Azoreans.”
Luís Montenegro further highlighted the need to compare this with the representation of the Socialist Party (PS) and Chega to draw conclusions.
“And naturally, I urge the Azoreans to conduct this analysis,” he remarked.
The head of the Executive also emphasized the ongoing collaboration between the Government and the Regional Government to address “key issues affecting Azoreans and those visiting the Azores Autonomous Region.”
