The Judicial Police announced that the Criminal Investigation Department of Leiria, in collaboration with the National Republican Guard of Pataias, has gathered significant evidence leading to the arrest of an individual suspected of attempted homicide on May 2 in Pataias, Alcobaça municipality.
The suspect, a 30-year-old man, was allegedly trying to collect a debt from the son of the victim, a 71-year-old woman.
Following an exchange of words, the man retrieved a shotgun from his vehicle.
He approached the victim’s residence and fired at close range through the window, injuring the woman in the face with shot fragments, “causing her serious injuries, notably affecting her vision.”
The suspect is scheduled to appear in court today for the imposition of preventive measures.
