The fire remains active yet is yielding to firefighting efforts, according to a statement issued at 02:50 by the Sub-regional Command of the Porto Metropolitan Area.
The alarm was raised at 22:08 on Sunday, with 96 personnel supported by 33 vehicles currently on the scene combating the blaze.
Earlier, Civil Protection officials reported that the fire had broken out in an industrial zone devoid of nearby residential areas, and no casualties have been reported at this time.
