The Portuguese railway company CP – Comboios de Portugal issued a warning last week regarding “disruptions in train services” from May 7 to 14 due to various strikes. Minimum service levels have yet to be established.

“Due to strikes organized by the unions ASCEF, ASSIFECO, FECTRANS, FENTCOP, SINAFE, SINDEFER, SINFA, SINFB, SINTTI, SIOFA, SNAQ, SNTSF, STF, and STMEFE, from May 7 to 8, 2025, by the SMAQ union from May 7 to 14, 2025, and by the SFRCI union from May 11 to 14, disruptions are expected with a notable impact from May 7 to 13,” stated the company’s website.

The company further mentioned that “if minimum services are defined, this information will be updated.”

And what about those who have already purchased tickets?

“Customers who have already bought tickets for Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional, and Regional services will be entitled to a full refund or a free exchange for another train in the same category and class,” according to CP’s website.

The refunds or exchanges, as explained, “can be processed in myCP under the ‘Your tickets’ section (for tickets purchased online and via the CP App) up to 15 minutes before the train’s departure from the customer’s station of origin, or at ticket offices.”
