On May 12, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) announced that train services between Cais do Sodré and Algés would resume without nighttime restrictions following the completion of a Lisbon Metro construction project.
This collaboration between the Metro, IP, and CP — Comboios de Portugal had caused disruptions in train services between Algés and Cais do Sodré.
The intervention was part of the Lisbon Metro expansion, aimed at constructing a new tunnel linking the future Santos station to the current Cais do Sodré station, which will be part of the Circular line.
However, with the conclusion of this Metro project, a new phase of renovation on the Cascais Line will begin, spanning from Oeiras to Cascais. This phase will require nighttime disruptions in train services on this section, according to IP.
To mitigate the impact on commuters, bus transportation will be provided, with schedules and stops available at www.cp.pt.
