A 47-year-old man was arrested by the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) on May 2 for aggravated breach of trust, with the authorities also recovering a vehicle in the municipality of Gondomar.
In a statement released on Thursday, the security force explained that during a community policing action in São Pedro da Cova, the officers identified “a high-value commercial vehicle that was parked on a public road and was marked for seizure.”
“During the operation, it was discovered that the vehicle had been rented on January 8, 2025, and was not returned within the agreed time frame. As a result, police inquiries were conducted, leading to the suspect’s arrest in flagrante delicto,” the statement added.
The arrested individual was formally charged, and the recovered vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.
The case has been forwarded to the Judicial Court of Maia.
