The São Martinho do Porto Volunteer Firefighters assisted a pregnant woman who gave birth while being transported to the hospital in February.
The announcement was made by the fire department on their Facebook page this Saturday, where they shared details of the event.
“On February 5, the São Martinho do Porto Volunteer Firefighters had the privilege of assisting in the birth of Maria, who was born in the ambulance,” they stated.
The baby was “born on the A8, between the Valado dos Frades and Pataias access junctions.”
“The firefighters of this corporation, the Command, as well as the Board and members, wish the family the greatest happiness,” the message read.
