Rocha challenges PS to say if it blocks or collaborates with a Government with the IL

Speaking at a campaign dinner in Leiria, Rui Rocha stated that with the elections approaching, it is no longer necessary to ask Pedro Nuno Santos about his plans if he wins the legislative elections. Rocha claimed that “it is already known that Pedro Nuno Santos will not be in power.”

He posed a question to the Socialist Party (PS): “How will the PS behave in opposition? This is something the PS must clarify to the Portuguese people. In opposition, will the PS be constructive, allowing the Liberal Initiative (IL) to accelerate the country, or will it be an obstructionist force?” he inquired.

Rocha further questioned Pedro Nuno Santos regarding whether he plans to “collaborate or block” when IL aims to “make more housing available to the market,” “improve access to healthcare,” “change the electoral system,” or “reduce taxes for families and businesses.”

He urged transparency from Pedro Nuno Santos, stating, “Just as we are transparent with the Portuguese and affirm that we are a party of governance to change the country, Pedro Nuno Santos should likewise be transparent with the Portuguese and tell them if he plans to be a minority of obstruction.”
