An automobile collision involving four light vehicles on the IC8 in Pedrógão Grande resulted in four injuries on Monday, according to confirmation from the Leiria Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection.
The alert was received at 2:15 PM, with the incident occurring at kilometer 87.4 of the IC8, near the Avelar bridge. By 3:54 PM, the road was reported as “completely closed.”
Four individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Hospital of Coimbra, while an additional four people received assistance at the site.
The rescue operations involved the Pedrógão Grande and Figueiró dos Vinhos Fire Departments, deploying a total of 19 responders supported by nine vehicles.
