The AD, PS, and Chega were the only parliamentary parties to secure votes in all of Portugal’s 3,090 parishes during the elections held on Sunday. In contrast, IL, CDU (PCP/PEV), Livre, BE, and PAN did not secure any votes in numerous parishes, with PAN not participating in all electoral districts.
The elections saw the AD – a coalition of PSD/CDS-PP – emerging victorious, winning 89 seats, including three seats from the AD coalition with PPM in the Azores. PS and Chega tied, each winning 58 parliamentary seats. IL emerged as the fourth strongest political force, acquiring one additional seat, totaling nine, compared to 2024, whereas Livre increased its representation from four to six seats.
The CDU lost one seat, leaving them with three representatives, BE was reduced to one representative, while PAN retained a single seat. The JPP from Madeira elected one deputy, not included in these figures due to its first-time election.
These results still exclude votes from Portuguese citizens residing abroad, whose participation and selections will be disclosed on May 28.
