
The concerts are scheduled for November 13 at Coliseu do Porto, November 15 at Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon, and November 16 at Convento São Francisco in Coimbra, according to the promoter in a statement sent to the Lusa agency.
Martinho da Vila, aged 87, is described as “one of the greatest names in samba and Brazilian popular music.”
The musician returns to Portugal this year “to celebrate a career marked by hits spanning generations.”
Known for songs like ‘Casa de Bamba’, ‘Mulheres’, and ‘Canta, Canta, Minha Gente’, he has released dozens of albums, with his first in 1967 and the latest last year.
In ‘Violões e cavaquinhos’, released in May 2024, Martinho da Vila revisits his songs and introduces four new tracks.
The album features collaborations with L7NNON, Preta Gil, Alegria Ferreira, and Mart’nália.
Tickets for Martinho da Vila’s concerts in Portugal are already on sale, priced between 40 and 60 euros in Coimbra, between 30 and 80 euros in Lisbon, and between 25 and 60 euros in Lisbon.
