
Paulo Simões Ribeiro will assume the position of Deputy Secretary of State for Internal Administration. In the previous legislature, he was responsible for the State Secretariat for Civil Protection.
Rui Novo e Rocha, an economist and former mayor of Ansião, has been appointed the new Secretary of State for Civil Protection.
The new Secretary of State for Civil Protection has also served as president of the Humanitarian Association of Ansião Volunteer Firefighters and as president of the District Federation of Firefighters of Leiria.
Telmo Correia will continue as the Secretary of State for Internal Administration.
The new Minister of Internal Administration is Maria Lúcia Amaral, the former Ombudsman.
A note published this evening on the Presidency of the Republic’s website indicated that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa accepted the list of 43 Secretaries of State proposed by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro for the 25th Constitutional Government.
The Secretaries of State will be sworn in on Friday at 12:00 at the Ajuda Palace in Lisbon.
