Mealhada launches new tenders for projects that remained deserted

The municipality in the Aveiro district has announced that the refurbishment of the Mealhada Health Center will be up for tender with a base price of 2.2 million euros (plus VAT). This comes after the previous tender, with a base value of 1.8 million euros, attracted no bids.

The transformation of the former Santa Luzia Fairgrounds into a support space for pilgrims will also be tendered, with a base price of 400,000 euros (plus VAT), which is an increase of 100,000 euros from the initial, unbid tender.

The refurbishment of the Mealhada Health Center is expected to take 240 days. External work will include the removal of existing roof coverings and the installation of new waterproofing systems and tiles.

It also involves the installation of new thermal break window frames and double glazing, along with a thermal insulation system and new paintwork.

Internally, work will include the renovation of ceilings and floors, doors, wall protection, cabinets, counters, and necessary adaptations for improved functionality.

In Santa Luzia, the project aims to convert the old fair butchers and the market space into a supportive area for pilgrims.

The work, expected to take 300 days, includes the conversion of the existing building, remodeling and strengthening the stormwater drainage system, repaving public spaces, and installing equipment and green areas.
