
The Embraer announced in a statement that the firm order contract for 60 aircraft, which will be included in the second quarter order book, amounts to $3.6 billion (approximately €3.1 billion).
With a fleet of 263 aircraft, SkyWest Airlines is the world’s largest owner and operator of E-Jets, medium-range twin-engine aircraft with a capacity of 80-124 passengers, manufactured by Embraer.
“As the largest owner and operator of E175 worldwide, we are pleased to continue expanding our fleet (…) This order allows us to advance our long-term fleet strategy and continue delivering the industry’s leading regional product,” stated Chip Childs, President and CEO of SkyWest.
“The E175 is the backbone of regional aviation in North America, and this order reinforces SkyWest’s confidence in the performance, reliability, and passenger comfort of our aircraft,” highlighted Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
Embraer is a global leader in manufacturing commercial aircraft with up to 150 seats, serving over 100 customers worldwide, with industrial units, offices, service centers, and parts distribution centers across the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
In Portugal, Embraer holds a majority stake in OGMA – Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal, located in Alverca, with 65% of the capital.
