
The executive addressed the second and final day of the 34th APDC congress, held at Culturgest in Lisbon, themed ‘Business & Science Working Together’.
“What we need to discuss is whether we are a central sector in the implementation of the digital economy, but also for other industries,” the CEO of MEO highlighted, recalling that during the blackout, the most mentioned topic was the quality of communications that day.
“We are a central and unavoidable sector, but appropriate conditions for investment need to be created,” the executive stated.
“Obviously, we are companies and need to have minimum associated returns,” but discussions still focus on price rather than quality, she lamented.
For the executive, the questions that should be asked include what “industrial policy” the country wants to have and whether it wants to “remain at the forefront” as always. “We are beginning to fall behind,” she warned.
