The Portuguese international and Liverpool player, Diogo Jota, aged 28, and his 26-year-old brother, passed away early this morning in a traffic accident on the A52 in Cernadilla, Zamora, Spain.
“The news of the death of Diogo Jota, an athlete who greatly honored the name of Portugal, and his brother is unexpected and tragic. I extend my deepest condolences to the family. It is a sad day for football and for national and international sports,” wrote Luís Montenegro on the social network X.
