Four men, aged between 20 and 32, were arrested by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) on suspicion of committing crimes of robbery, attempted murder, damage with a firearm, and possession of prohibited weapons. These incidents occurred on March 16 in the Loures area.
In a statement released on Thursday, July 3, investigators revealed that the suspects, acting in a “concerted” manner, intercepted three victims at the entrance to their residence. They wielded firearms and used physical violence, stealing money, high-value goods, and various gold items.
The PJ further reported that at some point, the victims sought refuge in their car, which was subsequently targeted with two shots.
Meanwhile, one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the head of a 9-year-old child, demanding more valuables.
At that time, the suspect fired four more shots at the vehicle that contained the remaining victims.
The child was ultimately struck with a rifle butt on the neck, rendering her unconscious. Afterwards, the suspects fled the scene.
The PJ was activated and, following various investigative efforts that allowed them to gather relevant evidence, identified, located, and arrested the four suspects.
The detainees have since appeared for their first judicial interrogation, with the court imposing preventive detention on one and bi-weekly reporting for the others.
