The Judiciary Police have arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of shooting another individual over the weekend at a restaurant in Carcavelos before fleeing the scene.
The arrest was made on strong suspicions of “committing a qualified attempted homicide and a qualified physical assault, both using a firearm,” stated the authorities in a communication.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of June 29 at a beachfront restaurant in Carcavelos, located in the municipality of Cascais.
The suspect and several companions engaged in an altercation with the restaurant staff. During the dispute, the young man fired several shots with a firearm, hitting two people—a 22-year-old restaurant employee and another 21-year-old male.

The shooting occurred near the ‘Grande Onda’ restaurant on Carcavelos beach in Lisbon, early Sunday evening. The injured man was transported to Cascais Hospital.
