Former Prime Minister José Sócrates made his first statements after the initial session of the Operation Marquês trial.
At the Justice Campus in Lisbon, Sócrates noted that the judge exhibited “great hostility and shows great partiality.”
After being heard, Sócrates expressed a sense of ‘déjà vu.’ “I have seen this movie. What is happening here is exactly what happened in three years of instructions. We are going to discuss the same things. What has already been disproven. All the lies, inventions,” he accused.
“The judge is doing what the Prosecutor General wants: Public humiliation of someone to save the face of the Public Prosecutor,” he said.
