“On the day the Prime Minister, who is my Prime Minister, decides that my mission is over, my tenure will conclude. Until then, I will remain, as governing involves addressing problems and taking responsibility, finding solutions. Nothing beyond that. This is how I view governance, and it will be so until the last moment,” she stated.
Ana Paula Martins spoke at Braga Hospital after participating in the closing session of a seminar on the humanization of healthcare.
In her remarks, she mentioned that healthcare professionals, especially the younger generations, also need to “have a life,” balancing work with family life.
“But I don’t know if it’s only our children’s generations. I also don’t know if I want to have a different life from the one I’ve always had. (…) The world has changed, and we tend to say that the younger generations, I say that my children’s generation today wants to have a different life from the one they saw me have,” she stated.
Later, she explained her statements to journalists.
“What I said inside, I’ll repeat: all of us, as human beings, need to have a balanced life, and in this case, even to govern well,” she remarked.
