The Central Alentejo Local Health Unit (ULSAC) announced that the Emergency Department of the Hospital do Espírito Santo de Évora (HESE), in the Internal Medicine specialty, will only admit “patients referred by CODU/INEM, other doctors, or SNS 24,” starting from 6 PM today until 8 AM on Saturday.
This period of restrictions is due to “an incomplete team, for unforeseen reasons,” stated ULSAC, assuring that “all professionals are committed to providing the best care despite the lack of staff.”
The local health unit urged the population to “use the SNS 24 support line and primary health care units before heading to the hospital, in order to be directed according to the severity of their situation.”
The Central Alentejo Local Health Unit also reminded that “24-hour service is available in Vendas Novas, Montemor-o-Novo, and Estremoz,” within the Évora district.
