“The current situation in the PS does not exclude anyone. No one is dispensable. As much as it pains us, sometimes, some voices, often misaligned with the decisions of the leadership, with the decisions of other comrades, as much as this pains us, it is part of our democratic richness, and we have to count on everyone to strengthen the PS in such a difficult moment that we are living,” stated José Luís Carneiro at the opening of the PS National Commission, which is assembled today in Lisbon.
The new leader of the PS emphasized that “no one is dispensable,” and he relies “on all sensibilities, all generations, all social classes.”
Regarding the composition of the PS National Secretariat presented today and set to be voted on in the meeting, Carneiro explained that he chose a list that “sought to ensure, on one hand, openness, inclusion, and the ability to mobilize all wills to serve” the PS.
“The first objective is fulfilled by having a team I propose to you that is intergenerational and, at the same time, has different political experiences,” he said.
