An accident late Sunday afternoon resulted in two minor injuries on the A1 Highway in Estarreja, confirmed the Metropolitan Porto Area’s Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
The accident occurred at 5:52 p.m. at kilometer 258 on the A1, heading North/South, leading to a “complete road closure” before the Estarreja exit.
By 6:50 p.m., traffic was “partially reopened.”
The injured were classified as minor and transported to a hospital.
António Coelho, commander of the Santa Maria da Feira Fire Department, stated that the injured were trapped in their vehicles.
On the scene were 12 operatives, supported by four vehicles, including the Santa Maria da Feira Volunteer Fire Department and an Immediate Life Support ambulance from Oliveira de Azeméis.
