Shooting between two groups in Loures. Only one of the suspects had 3 guns.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Loures for possession of a prohibited weapon after allegedly firing multiple shots during a confrontation with other individuals, the Public Security Police (PSP) reported on Tuesday, July 8, in a statement sent to Notícias ao Minuto.

The PSP stated that officers were called to the parish union of Camarate, Unhos, and Apelação on July 2, around 6 PM, due to “a confrontation between two groups of men, where there were reports of firearm shots.”

Upon arrival, police confirmed the presence of two groups engaged in altercations.

Seeing the police, the participants began to disperse, with the suspect discarding the firearms he possessed into nearby wasteland.

After restoring public order, the PSP managed to identify several participants, arresting the suspect and recovering the weapons as officers had noted where he had thrown them.

The suspect had in his possession a shotgun, a 6.35 mm caliber pistol, and a revolver, along with 36 cartridges of 12-gauge and five 6.35 mm rounds.

Despite the arrest, the detainee was released and notified to appear before the Judicial Authority.
