Lisbon Stock Exchange at waterline on a day of gains in Europe

Of the 15 companies that constitute the PSI, six saw an increase while nine experienced a decline.

Leading the gains was Galp, which rose 3.10% to 16.48 euros after revealing its second-quarter production figures earlier this week.

Although the refining margin dropped by 20% compared to the same period last year, it increased by 10% from the previous quarter. This margin indicates the difference between the cost of purchasing oil and the selling price of refined products like gasoline and diesel.

Other significant increases were recorded by CTT, which appreciated 1.80% to 7.91 euros, and BCP, which climbed 1.23% to 0.68 euros.

Mota-Engil (4.04 euros), Navigator (3.27 euros), and Semapa (17.06 euros) registered gains below 1%.

Conversely, EDP Renováveis led the declines with a fall of 1.57% to 10.05 euros, followed by Jerónimo Martins, which decreased 1.47% to 22.72 euros, and Nos, which dropped 1.16% to 3.84 euros.

Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt advanced 0.55%, Madrid 0.03%, Paris 0.56%, and London 0.54%.

The markets were reacting to the United States extending its deadline for imposing new tariffs to August 1st while simultaneously starting to send new tariff letters to some partners, including Japan and South Korea, with rates unilaterally imposed.
