PSP carries out a security operation at Alive starting Thursday

The Lisbon Metropolitan Command announced today that an operation will extend from Saturday night to Sunday.

“Considering the scale of the event and the expected attendance of around 60,000 people per day, the festival will have a PSP security presence focused on prevention and proactivity. This will include officers utilizing an integrated community policing model, traffic teams, criminal prevention squads, and rapid intervention teams,” the statement noted.

Measures for crowd control will be implemented at the entrance locations to the venue at Passeio Marítimo de Algés in the Lisbon district.

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, vehicular traffic on Avenida Brasília, Avenida Marginal between Algés and Alto da Boa Viagem, the local CRIL/IC17 overpass, and Praça D. Manuel I will be restricted starting from 3 PM.

There will be additional constraints—without specific timings—in accessing CRIL (Lisbon Inner Regional Circular) at Avenida General Norton de Matos (north-south direction) in Miraflores; at Avenida Humberto Melo Pereira at the intersection with Rua Damião de Góis (north-south direction); and at Avenida Ivens, towards Lisbon-Cascais.

On CRIL/IC17, the descending route between the Miraflores junction and the roundabout near Avenida Brasília will be closed from 11 PM to 4 AM.

“As an alternative, the use of A5, N117/Belém, and N6-3 Alto da Boa Viagem should be prioritized, along with the use of public transport,” the security forces recommended.

The PSP advises festival attendees to arrive at the event venue early considering the high turnout and security procedures for venue access, and encourages the use of public transport.

Those using private vehicles and parking on public roads are advised to ensure their vehicle is locked, valuables are not visible, and it is parked in a way that allows traffic flow.

In its 17th edition, the seven stages of NOS Alive will host 122 performances from 112 artists and bands, including 31 Portuguese acts.

The lineup features artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Benson Boone, Noah Kahan, and Mark Ambor, along with Muse, Foster The People, Glass Animals, Future Islands, The Teskey Brothers, Capicua, Iolanda, and Cebola Mol.

The venue, which opens daily at 3 PM and closes at 4 AM the following day, has a capacity of 56,000 people, in addition to the 6,000 staff and journalists in attendance.
