António Costa announced during a debate at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France: “For the first time, at the October European Council, we will include on the agenda an item on housing, which is a central issue.”
The EU “must mobilize to respond to this fundamental challenge for the social cohesion of citizens,” added the former Prime Minister of Portugal.
This will be the first time the housing crisis, which affects the majority of European Union countries, will be discussed during a European Council meeting.
