CURVA, the festival that takes us to more than 12 venues across the country

The CURVA is the name of Portugal’s first collaborative festival, set to take place from July 3 to 5, spanning more than 12 venues across over seven cities nationwide.

The event will feature 60 artists over three days of inclusive, decentralized, and free programming.

According to the organization, the CURVA emerges as “a direct response to the ongoing work of Circuito, the primary network dedicated to valuing and developing venues and clubs with live popular music programming in Portugal, which includes 17 spaces across the country.”

The two key aspects of the CURVA’s programming are “greater inclusivity in proposed artistic projects and increased decentralization of performances.”

For the first time, many national venues are joining in a coordinated effort to consciously curate programming. From July 3 to 5, 12 venues around Portugal will host the events, including B.Leza (Lisbon), Lounge (without a physical space), Damas (Lisbon), Lux Frágil (Lisbon), Maus Hábitos (Porto), Musicbox (Lisbon), Salão Brazil (Coimbra), Socorro (Porto), Barreirinha Bar Café (Funchal), Carmo 81 (Viseu), SHE (Évora), and Texas (Leiria).

The lineup includes well-known talents from Portuguese music, along with emerging and embryonic projects, new voices debuting on some of the country’s most iconic stages.
