“Portugal’s support for Ukraine is an unwavering commitment towards a just and lasting peace,” wrote Luís Montenegro on the social network X after participating “in a meeting of the coalition of goodwill leaders, on the sidelines of the International Conference on Ukraine.”
Montenegro took part in a virtual meeting of leaders from member countries of Ukraine’s ally group, co-chaired by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, held from London.
During the meeting, the British government announced that the coalition, comprising countries willing to deploy troops or military resources to uphold a potential peace agreement in Ukraine, will establish a permanent headquarters in Paris.
