Repair works were initiated at the site of the malfunction to resolve the problem.
Later, CP reported that the suspension was between Alcântara Mar and Cais do Sodré. However, in an update at 10:30 PM on Friday, CP stated on Facebook that the suspension continued between Algés and Cais do Sodré.
Algés serves as a key stop for the Alive festival, which is ongoing until Saturday in Oeiras.
A source from the Regimento de Sapadores Bombeiros confirmed the incident to Lusa late Friday afternoon, indicating that resources had been dispatched to assist passengers from a train halted outside a station.
