Buraka Som Sistema, featuring members Branko, Blaya, Conductor, Kalaf, and Riot, is set to make a return to Passeio Marítimo de Algés, marking their first performance there in a decade since their last concert in 2016. Over their career, the band has performed more than 800 shows, released three albums and one EP.
In a statement on their website, their representative agency Arruada announced that the group “returns from the hiatus declared in 2016, when they last performed in public at the gardens of Torre de Belém.”
The 2016 concert in Lisbon concluded an international tour celebrating a decade of Buraka Som Sistema, and in 2021, the band released this final show as an album.
The performance date for 2026 is yet to be confirmed, but the upcoming concert at the Alive festival won’t be the first, as they previously performed there in 2014.
The band’s first album was released in 2006, making next year’s concert a celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut music.
