A serious accident occurred on Estrada Nacional 4 (EN4), leading to the death of a man, pronounced at the scene by a doctor from the National Institute for Medical Emergency (INEM), according to the Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of the Setúbal Peninsula.
Four individuals injured in the incident were transported to São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal.
The collision, involving a passenger vehicle and a light goods vehicle, took place near the locality of Faias in the União das Freguesias de Pegões area, as reported by the GNR.
The alert for the accident was received at 18:23.
The response involved 27 operatives from the fire brigade, INEM, and GNR, supported by 12 vehicles, including the emergency medical and resuscitation vehicles (VMER) from Barreiro and Setúbal.
