The suspension is for four years, subject to probation, with a social reintegration plan and mandatory attendance in a program for sexual abusers.
The defendant, aged 47, previously held in pre-trial detention, was additionally sentenced with accessory penalties prohibiting him from performing any profession, employment, public or private functions, involving regular contact with minors, taking custody of minors, and he was also stripped of parental responsibilities for five years.
The man was charged with a total of 362 crimes of aggravated child sexual abuse, allegedly committed against two daughters, as well as a crime of sexual abuse of a minor or particularly vulnerable dependent against one of them.
During the verdict reading, the presiding judge explained that the daughters “remained silent”, leading to the defendant’s acquittal on this part.
“They [the daughters] saved his life here,” stated the judge, indicating that the defendant would be convicted “only for the crimes committed against the nieces.”
The judicial magistrate informed the defendant that his account was not convincing to the court, describing it as “nonsensical”, emphasizing that “all acts committed with minors are serious”.
“You are free today,” declared the president of the tribunal, advising the defendant to exercise caution in the future.
