A new support fund labeled “Linha de Apoio à Realização de Obras — 2025” will offer a total of 200,000 euros, with a maximum allocation of 50,000 euros per project for up to four projects. Eligible expenses must have been invoiced during this year.
The Social Cohesion Councillor, Fernando Paulo, clarified that this support aims to fund construction work in social facilities to expand early childhood services by institutions whose applications were approved under financed programs. The aid will focus exclusively on expenses not covered by these programs due to unforeseen inflation increases.
The support is applicable for various construction activities such as building, reconstruction, expansion, modification, adaptation, conservation, restoration, repair, rehabilitation, enhancement, and demolition of real estate, as outlined in the program attached to the proposal.
Eligible applications will be ranked based on the number of new vacancies they create, with priority given to those creating the most vacancies.
Only Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS) or legally equivalent entities based in the Porto municipality can apply for the funding.
In his proposal, Fernando Paulo emphasized the critical role that social solidarity institutions play, offering direct support to the most vulnerable groups. He stated that it is the municipalities’ responsibility to promote and safeguard the specific interests of their populations, particularly in areas like social action, culture, and sports.
