
The fire that began early Wednesday afternoon and was declared under control by Thursday morning reignited at 3:00 PM today in a sloped area driven by the wind.
The fire reached a resolution phase at 6:21 PM, and according to a source from the Sabrosa City Hall, around 132 operatives and 37 vehicles remain on site. Aerial resources have been demobilized.
Teams will remain in the field for consolidation maneuvers and surveillance.
Highway 323, between Sabrosa and Souto Maior, is now passable in both directions.
The fire broke out at 1:30 PM on Wednesday near the road and an area of pine forest at Feitais, before descending to Souto Maior, where it threatened homes, burning about 600 hectares of scrubland, pine forest, and vineyards within the Douro Demarcated Region.
