PSP identifies four people for drug trafficking in Madeira

In a statement, the police authority clarified that several individuals were identified on Thursday during various inspection and visibility operations in downtown Funchal.

A 53-year-old man was intercepted in the parish of Santa Luzia in possession of an individual dose of “bloom” (synthetic drug) and 136 euros in cash.

In the parish of Santa Maria Maior, the police identified a 44-year-old woman for the crime of drug trafficking, and seized from her 28 individual doses of “bloom,” one dose of hashish, and 150 euros in cash.

Another man, aged 22, was also identified for the crime of drug trafficking in the parish of Sé, with the seizure of four packages of cannabis, nine individual doses of hashish, and three individual doses of cocaine.

In the parish of São Roque, the police arrested a 50-year-old man following a house search, seizing 64 individual doses of hashish, two doses of cocaine, a precision scale, and other items associated with drug trafficking.

On Thursday, the police also detained a 27-year-old foreign national for illegal residence in the country after the deadline for voluntary departure had passed.

According to the police authority, the drug trafficking suspects were constituted as defendants and subjected to terms of identity and residence, awaiting the terms of the process in freedom.

As for the foreign national, he awaits the conclusion of the extradition process in freedom.
