Two 18-year-olds and two 25-year-old lifeguards were rescued late this afternoon at Praia da Seca, Espinho, according to a source from the Espinho Fire Department.
The alert was raised at 19:11, and despite the swift response of lifeguards who reached the young people in danger, they were beyond the breaking zone and had to wait for the arrival of the jet ski, explained the fire department source.
Once brought to shore, one of the young individuals and the two lifeguards were in a state of hypothermia and received on-site medical assistance, while the fourth rescued person was unharmed, the source added.
The Maritime Police and PSP are on the scene.
