
The latest bulletin on the aviation sector reveals that the number of aircraft movements, encompassing landings and take-offs, surged by 32.1% compared to June 2024, primarily driven by domestic traffic, which saw a 91.5% increase.
A similar upward trend in aircraft movements was recorded when comparing figures from May.
Passenger traffic reached a total of 249,005, reflecting a 26% growth compared to the same month the previous year.
The growth was particularly pronounced in domestic connections, with a 66.6% rise.
Compared to May, the overall number of passengers increased by 4%.
In terms of air cargo, domestic transport experienced growth, although the total volume saw a slight decline from the previous month due to reduced international operations.
The tourism sector and related services account for the majority of the country’s economic activity.
